REPORT ON INTER-HOUSE ATHLETIC MEET (2019-20)

SCHOOL believes in providing a plethora of wholesome experiences to the young ones.
We also understand the underlining importance of physical education in our
curriculum. As sports play a major role in developing the overall
personality of a child, so with the same the much awaited Inter-House
Athletic Meet for the session 2019-20 started on 24th February,2019 with
great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The day began with the Yoga
competitions for classes 3-5. It was a great delight to see the participants perform
various Asans such as Chakraasan, Parvatasan and Shirshaasan with so much
agility. The students of all the four houses competed fiercely for the
winning title. Exquisite yoga postures were a hallmark of all the houses.
Students moved from one difficult yoga pose to another effortlessly and
seamlessly and importance of these were
explained simultaneously.
The second half of the day
witnessed the first time ever inter- house Kho-Kho competition. All the players
of the four houses (Agni,Prithvi,Neer and Vayu) put their best efforts to make
their team victorious. The players displayed excellent skills of running ,
defense and team work. Prithvi house emerged as the winner of the match.
On
25th February,2019, Day 2 started with the Athletic Competition for
classes 1-5 where students of all the four houses competed in the race. Once
the races began, the alfresco of the school reverberated with the echoes of
applause due to the ebullient and enthusiastic athletes. The winners were
awarded for their astounding performances. The final event was the skating
competition for classes 4 and 5. Skating has always been one of the favorite
sports at AIS. Therefore it was not a surprise that students were very excited
to participate in this event. As per the school policy of ‘safety first’,
all the students were ready with their protective gears for this very exciting
competition. As the event began, the students showcased a perfect combination
of balance and speed.

Ahluwalia highlighted the importance of such Intra & Inter House Competitions
for the inculcation of competitive spirit among the students.
Headmistress- Ms.
Anju Gupta also encouraged the children to keep up their sportsman spirit to
achieve a better life, physically, mentally and spiritually as well.
Principal -Mr. Sanjay Yadav, in his address,
emphasized on the need to participate in sports and games as they inculcate
good habits, credence and regimen among the students.
AHLCON CELEBRATES LITERARY EXTRAVAGANZA
Literary Extravaganza, the flagship literary event on the cultural calendar ofAhlcon International School was celebrated in the month of September with focus on rekindling creative spirit and developing a passion for literature in both English and Hindi among students. A plethora of non-performing and performing activities were organized. Competitions like spelling, handwriting, creative writing and acrostic poem were included under non-performing competitions. Under performing competitions, story dramatization, inspiring anecdotes narration from the lives of famous people like Gautam Buddha, Chandra Shekhar Azad and Swami Vivekanand, personification of famous characters of literature, poetry, samvad vachan using muhavre and talk show were conducted. In the Talk show, children witnessed interviews with different characters and legendaries like Gandhiji in ‘Satyameva Jayate’, Ravana in ‘Coffee with Ravana’ , Doraemon in ‘Aap ki Adaalat’and Maggie noodles in ‘Controversial Nights with Tantalizing Maggi’
The programme left the audience spell bound. The Headmistress, Ms. Anju Gupta congratulated the students and teachers for the stupendous performances. The programme culminated by honoring and appreciating the winners and all the participants.
