VASANTOTSAV- A CULTURAL SAGA OF AHLCON
Ahlcon International School, believes in
strengthening and upholding the value of cultural heritage of our country in
the minds of young learners. With this vision of embracing spiritual as well as
cultural richness, VASANTOTSAV, a cultural and musical extravaganza
is celebrated every year on the advent of spring season. This year too,
many budding dancers, instrumentalists and singers from various
schools of Delhi and NCR showcased their talent and mesmerized the audience.
The culmination day for the 17th Vasantotsav
was celebrated on 8th February, 2019. Dr. Sonal
Mansingh Ji (Padma Vibhushan and Honorable member of the Parliament, Rajya
Sabha), Mr. Deepak Mishra (Retd. Senior IPS Officer), Dr. Sistla Rama Devi Pani
(Editor, ‘University News’) and Mr. Ganga Kumar from (Programme Implementation
Department, Govt. of India) graced the occasion as Guests of Honour. Besides, the Chairperson of Ahlcon, Dr.
Rohini Ahluwalia, Principal- Dr. Ashok Pandey, HM’s, AHMs and teachers of guest
schools bedecked the auditorium with their amiable and benign presence.The programme started with the traditional
lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. The palette of creativity
was ornamented with fascinating Tabla Group Recital Jugalbandi by the
vibrant Ahlconites.
The highlight of the show was the dance
drama-‘SANKALP SE
SIDDHI’ directed by Dr. Sonal Mansingh
Ji which was dedicated to Swacch Bharat Mission and focused on the strong
initiatives by her ,which are as follows-
Swachh Vichar-Pure Thought
Swachh Vaani-Good Speech
Swachh Vyavhar- Correct Behaviour
The guests appreciated the efforts of the
school in promoting and bolstering Indian culture.The ceremony concluded with
the announcement of the winner of the rolling trophy which was bagged by
Indraprastha International School, Dwarka.
REPORT ON VASANTOTSAV 2017-18
Ahlcon International School celebrated its 17th Vasantotsav-‘Festival of Innovative
Music and Dance Competitions’ with great pomp and splendour. This annual
extravaganza intends to promote and inculcate the understanding of Indian culture
and traditions in the younger generation.
This year too various competitions were held on 4th December ’17 for
the Junior category. It witnessed an overwhelming participation by the
enthusiastic students from over 20 schools of Delhi-NCR.
This event was a
unique blend of instrumental,song and dance competitions which was praised by one and all present there.
The programme
culminated in the month of Feb’18 with the announcement of the winners of the
rolling trophy i.e.DLF Public School and splendid performance by great artists
left the audience spellbound.

annual extravaganza intends to promote and inculcate the understanding of
Indian culture and traditions in the younger generation.
This year too various competitions were held on 19th November’16 (senior category) and on 28th January’17 (junior category). Both the categories witnessed an overwhelming participation by the enthusiastic students from over 20 schools of Delhi-NCR. These events were a unique blend of instrumental, song and dance competitions.

The
school auditorium bustled with excitement as the teachers and students gathered
on 1st February’17 to cherish the culmination ceremony of
Vasantotsav. Mr Ganga Kumar-Managing Director(Bihar State Food & Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd.), graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Besides
the chairperson of Ahlcon, Dr. Rohini Ahluwalia, the principals, heads and
teachers of other schools bedecked the auditorium with their amiable and benign
presence. The colourful spectacle commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the
lamp and the welcome address by the principal, Mr Ashok Kumar Pandey. The guests
were enthralled by the orchestra and the fusion folk dance presented by the
vibrant Ahlconites.
The festive spirit of Vasantotsav got a defining hue by the motley of folk performances like Bhawai, Ghoomar, Terah Taal, Chari and Mayur Dance by the artists of ‘Dharohar’- a troupe from Rajasthan. Mr Ganga Kumar appreciated the efforts of the school in promoting and bolstering Indian culture despite being an International School.
