The word Dastangoi refers to the art of storytelling, it is a compound of two persian words dastan and goi which means to tell a Dastan .
Dastans ever epics, often oral in nature which were recited or read aloud. Telling tales of adventure , magic and warfare , Dastan mapped new worlds and horizons , encountered the unseen and protected the heros through many travails . In this session madam fouzie a,renowned dastango regaled the children with wonderful tales about animals and people. Her story "chabban chachu" took the children into the 16th century world .
The mannerisms and the dialect of 16th century was the essence of her story and were greatly enjoyed by children. Even after the session children were reciting her songs which they heard during the session. Children had a wonderful time listening and enjoying stories. They did not want the session to end and were left wanting for more.
